While we firmly believe that good training isn't about gimmicks or gadgets, we have found that there are a few inventions out there than can make your training (and your life with your dog) easier.  These positive management tools can make working with your dog more comfortable or pleasant, increasing the likelihood that you'll work better, and more often, with your dog.

We can't possibly compete with big box stores on price or selection. Therefore, the products described here aren't sold in local stores and may be different than things you have seen.

Martingale Leashes

     Small & Medium - $20.00

   Large - $25.00

     Currently available in small, medium and large sizes, with six foot leash length. Colors include black (with red or multi-colored) collar; yellow (with black); purple (with pink); red (with black); blue (with yellow) (limited sizes only). 

      This leash is currently being used by several organizations that we work with in daycare and shelter settings to assure safety of the dogs in their care while walking. Properly fitted and secured, this leash/collar combination minimizes the risk of a dog slipping out of his collar.  

Ultra Leashes - $25.00 

      Currently in stock in black (with 8 foot length and 1/2 inch rope diameter), these double-ended leashes are a perfect weight for use with either a head halter or front clip harness. Other colors and weights available upon request.

      Comfortable to hold, this unusual leash can be used as a waist leash, a long line, a short or doubled training lead, or as temporary tie-out (under close supervision, of course!). Perfect for a variety of training needs!

Wonder Walker Body Halters - $30.00

     While front-clip walking harnesses are gaining popularity, you'll only find a sub-par version in the local stores. This harness, shipped to order from our supplier in Seattle, is by far the best around in terms of quality of workmanship and security of fit. Available in a variety of sizes and colors, this front-clip harness makes walking even the most difficult dog a breeze - and also provides a safe car restraint in one piece of equipment.

Freedom No-Pull Harnesses - $30.00

      A variation on the front-clip harness that also works as a no-pull harness when attached on the back, this harness offers velveteen softness on the straps running behind your dog's front legs and under their chest to minimize chaffing and increase comfort. This harness works beautifully with either the Ultra Leash or the Brahma 8-Way Lead (also new, see below). 



Brahma 8-Way Lead - $45.00

      Currently in stock in black with 1/2 inch width, this super-strong man-made material is a fabulous alternative to leather.  Impervious to water or dirt, yet soft on your hands, this leash has a variety of clips that allow you to lenghten or shorten easily and quickly, as well as use the leash as a hands-free option or connect to two pieces of equipment on your dog at once.  This lead has quickly become one of our most popular items!  



Service Leashes - $30.00

We'll admit we are fussy about leashes - in fact, we'd prefer not have to hold one all the time (which is why we like the hands-free Ultra Leash or the Brahma 8-Way Lead so much!), BUT if we have to have a leash in hand, this is the one!  The main handle is padded with neoprene for comfort, and the length of the leash is adjustable. A second padded handle lays flat along the leash end closest to your dog, so you can easily restrain your dog more closely when necessary. The second handle collapses and lays flat, so no worries that your dog will accidentally step in it! 

5 Foot Leather Leashes - $35.00

Ever feel that the "standard" six foot leash was too long, but that the four foot was too short? This leash is the perfect length to both allow your dog to sniff a bit but still stay within a reasonable proximity of you. Simple in design, yet beautiful and soft, these fine quality leashes by Bold Lead Designs only get better and softer with use. Available in a variety of thicknesses; black and tan only.
